My students need foam rollers to help prevent and treat common running injuries and a canopy to shelter them from the elements during a cross country meet.
I coach high school cross country in a small, rural, public high school. We are thrilled to be able to offer this sport at our school, and many of the runners are beginners. Due to being a small public high school, funding is often a problem. We are dependent on fundraising and donations for most of our student-athlete needs.
We serve a low income community, and many of our runners are able to participate in cross country because it is a sport that does not require a big monetary investment.
However, there are certain items that improve the experience and enable our runners to maximize their potential.
My Project
The foam rollers will help our runners develop healthy muscles and prevent common running injuries. The E-Z UP Straight Leg Instant Sidewall will allow our team to escape the heat and rain at cross country meets.
Due to our school having funding issues because we are in a low income area, our runners have never had the experience of using foam rollers to prevent and treat shin splints and other nagging injuries common to distance runners.
We are excited about the possibility of obtaining these tools of the trade that we see our competitors using each time that we travel to a cross country meet.
