Help me give my students the odds and ends we need to make our classroom successful. Books, flexible seating, pencil grips, weighted vests, and headphones.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are a Title I school where 100% of my students receive a free breakfast, lunch, and snack. Many of my students are the recipients of food bags on the weekends as well as other resources to meet their needs. Even though they are 5 and 6 - many of my kiddos are faced with challenges beyond what I can ever imagine.
My students come to school ready to work, learn, and grow their brains despite anything else that may be going on in their lives.
My Project
We have an array of needs in our classroom. We want to be able to meet those needs through the physical materials we provide.
Every child deserves a chance to be successful and I want them to have the variety of materials they may need to access content!
By having a variety of books in our classroom we are able to reach learners of all stages. A funny or interesting text can change everything. By listening to stories my striving readers, EL students, and those with language impairments are able to hear fluent reading and increase vocabulary.
The materials like flexible seating, weighted vests, headphones, and pencil grips help support special needs students, students with IEPs, and others who may need additional support.
