Help me give my students an opportunity for extension and enrichment with these challenges games and paper/page protectors to create our own challenge BINGO games.
My students come from all walks of life. In our school, there are more than a dozen different languages spoken at home. We have only children and families of 12. Students come from our 5 different elementary schools, as well as out of district from near by St. Paul. My students come from two-parent families, divorced households, single parents, custodial grandparents or extendes relatives, foster homes, and shelters. Some of them have food on the table at home and others get all three meals a day at school. But they all have one thing in common: they are all entering our school with the potential for greatness and the capacity to learn. And as a staff, we do everything possible to make each and every dream a reality.
My Project
My students need to have opportunities to extend their learning through challenges and enrichment games. My classes are full of a wide range of students, with varying levels of math proficiency. My accelerated students are yearning for more challenges to take on while I support their struggling peers and these supplies will give them this.
These supplies will help my math masters reach their full potential through the use of games!
They will provide extension and enrichment by working on flexible and creative thinking skills. They will be able to work on their communication skills by working together to solve tough problems, find patterns, and think outside the box for game solutions.
The paper and page protectors will allow us to create our own BINGO style games for different units along with math memory games. We have already created games for our units on probability and percents that the students love and the brightly colored paper allows us to make them in coordinated sets so many different groups can play at once.
