Mrs. Christus from Kansas City MO is requesting Art Supplies through DonorsChoose, the #1 classroom funding site for teachers.

Enrichment Art Journals

Help me give my students real sketchbooks for their art enrichment class! They work so hard in this class exploring all different mediums and ideas. Most of these kids have never had a sketchbook of their own.

My Students

Maya Angelou said, "You can't use up creativity, the more you use, the more you have." The 7th and 8th grade students I have are learning how to explore their creativity. This diverse group of kiddos don't come from environments where the arts thrive. It's in the classroom where their imaginations are nurtured.

The art room is one place where they get to be dreamers, makers, readers, writers and problem solvers.

Creativity is innate within us, and as an art teacher, it's my job to help our students find what might be buried deep within.

My Project

My students made their own sketchbooks first semester this year. Even though the experience was great for them, due to expense of materials, they just didn't hold up.

I'd love to give the kids an opportunity to have their OWN brand new sketchbook to explore their creative minds!

These kids have no end to their creative ideas! They explore different mediums, ideas, and collaborate with their peers.

I know the students would be so very grateful to have a sketchbook and fill it up for this next semester. These are the future architects, designers, advertising execs, and teachers! Please support our creativity!
