We are nestled in the hills of Eastern Kentucky is a small, local middle school that houses some of the most influential minds in the world! Living in this county, with the highest unemployment rate in the state, can be a challenge... especially for my students. My goal is to provide them with a loving classroom environment that enriches their greatest academic potentials. I have both 7th and 8th grade students who would greatly benefit from this project! I have an average of 100 students who would love to have the opportunity to read and use these within my classes!
Scope magazines offer enriching ELA lessons that are not only common core aligned but they are also designed to grab this age groups attention. By incorporating lessons that are surrounded around real world events, my students will be able to make a personal connection. By making a personal connection they will in turn be able to apply this to their academic knowledge in terms of ELA. These ELA magazines offer reading, writing, and grammar activities, as well as ELA projects. My students would greatly benefit by completing various ELA activities that can showcase their knowledge and learning. Not only will these prepare them for their testing at the end of the year, but these will also prepare them for the ELA skills that they need in life!
