My first graders are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, and engaging activities! My students come to our classroom each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow as learners and people. They inspire me so much!

My Project
After learning more about Donors Choose from friends and co-workers, I knew I had to give it a try--this is my first project!
If this project is funded, my students will be able to use these headphones during our Listen to Reading station and while they work on our classroom iPads during different parts of the day.
These headphones are crucial for students to listen to audiobooks. When my first graders listen to and follow along with books, they are improving their vocabulary which will also improve their understanding when they listen, which is vital as they start to read. It's important for them to understand how stories work, too.
We use the app called SeeSaw as a way for students to explain their thinking verbally and to share their work with me and their classmates. Most headphones/earbuds that students have used in previous years have been uncomfortable in their little ears and the cord breaks after a few weeks. These headphones will allow me to better assess my students' knowledge and will save me money from buying additional, cheap pairs throughout the year.
