I am a fifth grade teacher of male and female students. Between the different groups, there are 95 students. About 40% of those students are considered free or reduced lunches. Living in a small yet diverse community makes these students worthy of having a high-quality education. The personalities of my students make managing a classroom a challenge at times and in order to allow all students to get the quality education, I would like to make myself a better teacher to make this possible.
My Project
I am looking for more skills I can draw from as I am teaching. One of the biggest struggles I have had in my first three years is classroom management. I want to be the best teacher I can be because it is what my fifth graders deserve. I want to make the most of our time together and struggle with classroom management is holding us back. Knowing that I am doing the best I can when students walk into my classroom is the greatest feeling I can have.
When I am improving my teaching skills, my students will be the real winners because they are getting the education they deserve!
