I have a wonderful group of third graders this year! This group of students have been away from school for over a year due to the pandemic and are finally back in school eager to learn and be with their classmates. They come to school each day anticipating what they will learn for the day. They come with so much joy and excitement to just be in school finally. My students are so unique and beautiful and have so much to offer when they share. I am so lucky to have this group.
My Project
My students will benefit from having various types of book in our classroom library because it will increase their background knowledge, enhance their vocabulary, and expose them to different writing styles. Additionally, it will support their understanding of rich literature as they learn how to read and comprehend fiction and non-fiction books in third grade. The new types of literature that they receive will be used daily in class and will allow students to get excited about reading. Having a rich and vibrant reading life will only help them grow into a life long reader!
