Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are creative and fun loving. They enjoyed coming to school every day and learning. However, on March 12 they came to school not knowing it would be their last day until at least next year.
Their young lives have been forever changed.
During these unprecedented times, we have come together as a class to continue learning on line or with packets for those students who do not have access to technology. My hope is to keep them engaged in the learning process until we meet again.
My Project
While school was in our favorite part of the day was read aloud time. Now that we are learning from home, my students miss our daily read aloud time. There wasn't any time to grab any books when the school closed, so these books would help me continue to read aloud to them during our zoom meetings. In addition, we can use these books to talk about our fillings, practice reading comprehension and use our critical thinking skills to figure out what the characters would do.
Reading these books to my sweet third graders will make it seem like we are all together again.
Once school opens up again, I will be able to use these books to read aloud in the classroom. These books will always hold a special place in our class since they helped us learn while we had to learn from home.
