I am a third grade teacher. A lot of my students are English Language Learners. I have a high Hispanic population. I also have several students with special needs. They are from low income families. I have been recently transferred to this school and I would like to meet the vast needs of my students. I want to see them develop strong reading, writing and math skills so they can have a good future. It has been proven that children who are reading on grade level at the end of third grade stand a greater chance of success in the future.
These High-Interest Intervention Reading Folders contain multiple reading folders that the students can use independently. The folders address various strategies and skills that will enhance my students' reading performance. This will help them be able to read on grade level. My students struggle with identifying main idea and supporting details. There is a box of activities that specifically address this skill. It also addresses cause and effect and other skills. Students will be able to work individually on the specific skills they need. These activities will support what they’re learning in guided reading. It will also support what thy are learning during whole class instruction.
