Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember the very first nursery rhyme you learned such as "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star..."? For the majority of my students the only exposure they have to these Nursery rhymes begins in kindergarten or first grade.
Our students face a number of challenges.
Students here come from hard working low income households where English is their second language. Students attend a public elementary school that serves Pre kindergarten through fifth grade. All students qualify for the free lunch program. It is considered a Title 1 school.
My Project
With the mp3 player and the docking station, students will be able to listen to nursery rhymes, poems, chants, and stories on books. This will enhance their English language development, increase vocabulary, and develop a foundation for reading success.
Please support our project.
Your donation will have a significant impact on our students.
Access to rhymes and stories will familiarize second language learners with the English language and allow time to practice word play.
