My Students

In my classroom, my students know that EVERYBODY is capable of learning and accomplishing awesome things! We balance working hard and having fun, and we celebrate our many successes. I always make it a point to get to know my students personally, because I want them to know how much I care! In my position as a reading interventionist, I make sure that I am doing my best to choose meaningful, diverse, and engaging texts and materials so that the kids I work with can develop a love for reading and learning.

I want reading to be an enjoyable experience for my students because I want them to become lifelong readers and learners.

My Project

Learning about literacy should be fun for students! Not only that, as teachers we need to ensure that our instruction is clear, concise, and hits on all the right topics.

It's not always easy to combine both of those elements, but this virtual professional development series, and the accompanying resources, will help me immensely with that task.

Jen Jones with Hello Literacy is an amazing resource for breaking down the tough parts of teaching literacy to students, and making them understandable and easy to implement. With Jen as my instructor for this online series, I know I will gain many new skills as a reading teacher, while also keeping it fun for my students.
