My Students
I teach ELA and math to 6th grade 15:1 students. The students in my class have a mixture of learning disabilities or other health impairments that impact their ability to learn. Additionally, I work on a team with two general education teachers and push-in to their classrooms for science and social studies in order to support all students on the team in these subjects.
I provide students with opportunities to learn in a flexible, supportive environment where they are engaged, encouraged, and valued.
My Project
My classroom currently has two separate small group spaces. One has convenient access to the Promethean board. The other space is located on the opposite side of the room. The whiteboard easel will benefit the teacher and students working in that space.
When working in student-led small groups, the whiteboard easel will allow students to collaborate and assist each other with assignments and math problems.
In addition, the easel will allow for guided instruction and/or modeling during teacher facilitated small group instruction. It will provide the teacher convenient access to a board in order to model writing or math problems.
