Enhancing Skills Through Visual Learning in Sports
My students need an iPad and case, for recording and watching their mechanics in slow motion. This will give them instant feedback so they can make corrections in order to improve.
My students are excited to improve their mechanics and skills in order to build our program. My students want to use video technology that provides instant feedback for them to correct errors they are making and to enhance their body awareness as athletes.
"Live, Love, Play...Bulldog Softball."
This is a diverse group of young ladies from a rural community where female sports have not always been in the spotlight.
We neighbor a major university and it is easy for high school sports to not get the community support they may get elsewhere. These girls have goals to do all they can to get noticed by the community so that coming to one of our softball games is an exciting event that people don't want to miss out on.
My Project
Students will be able to see themselves and breakdown their softball mechanics. Coaches will be able to use video for analysis and practice planning. Coaches will also be able to keep instant and up-to-date stats for each game that can be sent instantly to local newspapers so that the female athletes can be recognized and the sport can gain community support.
An iPad is technology we need to keep up with other teams in our area so that we can make the most of the practice time we have together.
Students will gain confidence when they can see for themselves the improvement they have made by being able to watch both "before" and "after" video. They will learn that hard work truly does pay off.
