Help me give my students the opportunity to stay up to date with current events and enhance their reading skills with Scholastic News articles.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
Our school is nestled in a busy suburb in Northern New Jersey.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly.
We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
The Scholastics News subscription will open up an exciting world of reading for my fifth grade students. They will not only enhance their reading skills, but they will also become aware of current events that are taking place.
Each Scholastic News issue uses short, on-level texts to engage students, build language arts skills, and increase science and social studies knowledge.
All students will be guided through each exciting article with online resources like digital editions, videos, and a Text-to-Speech audio option for lower level readers. These texts will engage students and give them the opportunity to spark a conversation with their peers with their thoughts and opinions.
