In a post COVID classroom, I have a bright bunch of students that have become tech whizzes. Despite going through almost two school-years where nothing has looked normal, they keep pushing on and adjust to each new challenge better than most adults have. In our classroom, we always joke that I'm just working with a bunch of mini-adults.
My mini-adults have missed out on so many opportunities and despite my best efforts to normalize an in-classroom experience for them, I've noticed that one area lacks.
We have amazing tech provided by our school for whole group instruction, but we are missing smaller items that would make small group instruction meaningful. I've created this Donor's Choose to make sure my students get the resources they need for supplemental instructional opportunities.
My classroom of mini-adult 4th graders have had many challenges during the 3 school years that have been affected by COVID. Many are learning how to interact with people without being behind a computer screen. They have adapted and achieved better than most adults during this time.
Despite the many opportunities I try to provide my mini-adults, there is one area in our classroom that needs a little TLC.
These students would gain so much if they had enhanced small group resources for supplemental instruction. Our school does an awesome job providing programs and tech for whole group instruction but I would love to provide my 4th graders with better resources for our focused reading and math groups. Please consider helping us enhance our instruction!
