This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project aims to provide essential teaching supplies and resources for the Library Special classes at Lomie G. Heard. These materials will support engaging, hands-on learning experiences for students across all grade levels, fostering literacy, research skills, creativity, and a lifelong love of reading.

Library Special classes play a vital role in developing foundational skills that support academic success across all subjects.

However, our current budget does not adequately cover the diverse materials needed to create an interactive and enriching environment. Without appropriate supplies, such as markers, student tools, and organizational bins, lessons are limited in fully engaging students. This grant will help address that gap and ensure the Library Special remains a dynamic learning space for all.

Goals and Outcomes

Create a well-equipped, student-centered library classroom

Increase student engagement in Library Special activities

Improve student literacy and research skills through interactive learning

Foster collaboration and creativity across all grade levels

Funds from this grant will be used to purchase:

Basic classroom supplies (markers, chart paper, scissors, glue, tape)

Organizational tools (book bins, trays, supply caddies)

These items will enhance lesson delivery, support differentiated instruction, and allow students to actively participate in collaborative, inquiry-based projects.

With your support, we can transform the Library Special into a vibrant, well-resourced space that nurtures student learning and creativity. This grant will provide the critical supplies needed to bring lessons to life and ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive through access to engaging library instruction.
