My students need interactive technology in the classroom to enhance learning. I would love to have my students actively engaged in learning on a medium that most are familiar with and thoroughly enjoy!
I have the great privilege of teaching students with developmental delays. They are 4 years old, and will be moving on to Kindergarten next year. I love watching their personalities emerge throughout the year in preschool. I also love watching my students make incredible gains. It melts my heart when a student enters my classroom with minimal communication and leaves my classroom being able to say my name. My students are bright, enthusiastic, energetic, beautiful children who are ready to learn. They love to learn through hands-on/interactive technology activities.
Technology is all around us. Our children are exposed to interactive technology typically on a daily basis whether it’s in the classroom setting or otherwise. My students are extremely motivated by technology in the classroom. They love to sing songs, dance, play games, etc. via technology. However, I do not have up-to-date technology. I have desktops (which most of my four year olds with special needs have difficulty using) and a projector. My students will use these iPads to play educational games to enhance letter knowledge, number knowledge, etc. throughout the entire school year. The iPads will continue to benefit my students through many lessons and activities.
