I work with students that have special needs; they require additional supports/accommodations in order to achieve academically. My students are funny, creative, animated, and kind. They enjoy learning in a setting in which they feel comfortable, where they are allowed to make mistakes and learn from them.
My students are learning to use taught strategies, class materials, each other and teacher feedback to make gains in all academic subjects and to develop a growth mindset.
They are resilient and compassionate!
My Project
The Chromebook will allow my students to access reading programs like Amplify and Benchmark. Using these programs will provide the extra practice the students need to become fluent readers. Once they become fluent readers, they can efficiently take meaning from the text. This will open a whole new world of possibilities for them.
The Chromebook is a great way of making learning fun and interactive for my students.
Following a lesson, having a readily available Chromebook will allow the students to have consistent reading practice on 1 of the programs. Thus, developing the skills that were previously taught, which is a great way to enhance instruction!
