This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school is nestled in Oklahoma City the largest district in the state. It is filled with a diverse student body that have to face several day to day economic challenges. Though faced with these difficulties my students continue to be curious, out-going and creative. They love hands-on and engaging activities and often wish to lead various lessons. Each student continues to use the tools learned to increase their academic and personal growth.
My Project
These materials will help build our learning community by supplying necessary reading materials to the students. The engaging scholastic readers are both grade-level and fun. They will help to ensure that our classroom maintains a print-rich environment. The students love the articles and layout of the easy to follow and informative articles that these readers provide. They also enjoy having material that is directly in front of them and not projected. This will provide opportunities for class discussion, group activities and individual instruction. That in conjunction with the dry erase boards will greatly enhance our learning environment.
