Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class is filled with bilingual students that come from low income homes and are well below the federal poverty line, Title I.
These students are young boys and girls who come to school ready to learn each day despite their difficult home lives.
I do what I can to provide enriching activities for my students. This often means paying out of pocket to buy small things that I know they need in order to be successful.
At my school, we are all about student success and welcoming our children each day with open arms. I care for each and every one of my students and hope to educate them in the best possible way each and every day. My students are the future! They are bright, energetic, and eager to learn every day!
My Project
With the Chromebooks, my students would have the opportunity to use them as a supplemental tool for interventions and enrichment during their centers. We do a lot of research and interactive lessons with the students and feel this equipment will better assist them in the education by leaps and bounds.
Many of my students come early each day to use the computers I have in the the classroom because their families do not have the equipment or internet at home to use due to financial hardship.
Some activities that the students would do on the Chromebooks would be Reflex Math, Think through Math, Achieve3000, Accelerated Reading, and even Science and Social Studies research projects.
With these Chromebooks, my students' educations will improve dramatically! They will be able to supplement and enrich their own learning every day. My hope is that this project will give them a brighter future. These children are our future. Every donation will help to make their future brighter, as well as the future of our society.
