This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a third grade teacher in Colorado. Many of my students have many challenges in their lives, but they come to school everyday and work their hardest to make better lives for themselves. I can't even imagine taking on the responsibilities that they have at the age of 8. I want to teach them to persevere when they are challenged with a problem and make themselves better people because of it.

These students love for education is inspiring.

I want to give every student the best learning experience possible. With a document camera I can enhance the visual learning of many students. I can zoom in on text details in mentor texts, apply reading strategies, model exemplar writing and math strategies.

My Project

A document camera will allow for students to learn with a more visual experience. If a digital camera is the class I can zoom in and out on texts to identify text features, details and evidence in a mentor text. It can also be used to model reading strategies when getting stuck on a tricky word, or math strategies that can solve a problem more effectively. The document camera can also be used to show exemplar texts in writing so that students have a representation of an on grade level writing piece.

Having a document camera will allow for more engaging experiences in the classroom.
