Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My group of preschoolers are amazing! The majority of my students are four years old and are familiar with a school setting. They work well together, take turns, and are excited to try new learning experiences. Both boys and girls enjoy working all the centers in the classroom. They have quickly captured what it means to follow rules, be kind to one another, and be good listeners.
Each day, my students surprise me with their creativity and willingness to help each other and demonstrate kindness as well.
They enjoy all that the school has to offer from recess to music class.
My Project
All the students enjoy the dramatic play area where they relish using their imagination with a few props to role play real world scenarios. All the students enjoy cooking, serving food from the menu, and taking care of the babies. Recently, a few students used their imagination to turn capes, spoons, and cans of food into a salon where they took turns applying make up and fixing their hair for a party.
To enhance and expound on their imagination and role playing, I would like to add a few more items to the dramatic play center to support what I have observed them doing.
In addition, I want to include the boys into the dramatic play area to role play getting a haircut or shaving.
