My Students

I have two classes each semester of energetic, inquisitive 6th graders who love to move and learn. Each class has approximately 25 students who are learning about using technology to communicate their learning and ideas.

Like all students, my students learn best through activities that involve movement and a high level of engagement.

My students also crave independent learning activities that allow them to use their creativity and collaboration to solve problems and challenges. I am constantly amazed by the ingenuity and resourcefulness my students demonstrate every day.

My Project

Coding and programming can be daunting tasks if the appropriate resources are not available. In the past, we have taught programming with robotic systems composed of interlocking parts. The interlocking parts would often fail thereby causing students programming to also fail and discouraging our emerging coders.

The acquisition of Sphero BOLTs will allow students to focus on the coding and programming aspects of computer science while not having to worry about the durability of their robotic mechanisms.

Sphero BOLTs are an extremely durable and programmable robot that will last for many years increasing the number of students who benefit from your contribution annually.

Each Sphero BOLT donated will also be available for student check out. Students may use their school-issued iPad and Sphero BOLT for learning at home activities allowing for equitable learning opportunities, especially important during this time.
