My Students

My students are very unique. They are loving and caring. They are learning how to navigate this world with their own special challenges. Some have words while others are struggling to communicate with others.

Most of my students are autistic with sensory issues, they struggle with sound and light changes and need help learning how to cope with these issues.

This program gives my students with their unique challenges an opportunity to learn and thrive within our district. My energetic preschoolers enter the classroom ready to learn, discover, and explore.

My Project

All my students are between the ages of 3 and 5 and have learning disabilities. My students struggle to focus on learning and education in a classroom setting. Because of this, I have to come up with unique ways to teach my students their colors, numbers, and alphabet. A sensory table has a built in light to let students see transparent colors and objects. Light helps children with autism to focus their attention. I have several students who have autism. A sensory table will allow me to teach colors, numbers, and the alphabet in a more inventive way. The table will provide light for transparent colors and show how colors mix to form a different color. The students will also be able to trace numbers and letters using the light provided by the table.
