Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students can't wait to come to P.E. so that we can play games, build our sports skills and learn about overall health and fitness.
Most of my students come from lower socioeconomic households.
Many of them learn English as a second language.
Some of them do not have access to yards, or do not have the kinds of toys or equipment which would allow them to be physically active with their families. It is my goal to teach them ways that they can be healthy and enjoy movement at home.
My Project
We would love to have 6 sets of these 7 inch foam dodgeballs. They are made of soft foam, which greatly reduces the risk of injury.
Students just beginning to learn throwing and catching skills find these foam dodgeballs less threatening.
The 7 inch diameter allows for more successful catching.
These foam dodgeballs are extremely versatile, lending themselves to so many games and activities. Older students can use them for a variety of games, such as bowling pin knock out, battleship, and so many more!
We currently do no have any equipment like this, so your donation would make a great addition to our Physical Education class!
