This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are from Central America, South America, Mexico and Yemen. My students are eager to learn, read, write and speak English. Many of them speak Spanish and some of them speak their native dialects as well. Exposing these students to fabulous literature like Romeo and Juliet will open up a new world for them.

No Fear Shakespeare allows students who are multilingual learners to experience the text at a more scaffolded level for understanding.

We will be reading and performing the play in the classroom together. Having the students interact and perform the story helps them to remember key details and get a true feeling for the words that Shakespeare has written. Romeo and Juliet will just be the beginning of our unit on Shakespeare works. Having the collection of Shakespeare works will assist with my future planning for my students. The Teacher Pay Teacher gift certificate will provide resources to utilize while I am creating lessons for my students. My students and I greatly appreciate any assistance.
