My Students

My students are amazing! They are a diverse group who come to school each day wanting to experience new things and grow. My students quickly learn that we can make excuses or we can make it happen. What makes my students so thoroughly amazing is how consistently they choose to make it happen despite the obvious challenges they may face.

My school is a Title I school in Tampa, Florida with a wide range of diversity and high poverty, and yet, these students always impress visitors, and their very own teacher, with their tenacity and desire to grow and learn more no matter their educational background.

There will always be issues in Title 1 schools and we will always work to overcome the obstacles. DonorsChoose.org is a great way for us to receive the help we need in order to make learning fun for our students.

My Project

These awesome mini 3D printers are a way to get my students to experience the technology they will be working with in the future. It will enhance their STEM challenges, as well as help them explore some mathematical concepts.

These 3D Doodlers will allow students to take their STEM designs to another level.

We are experiencing STEM design challenges in class as often as possible. Now they can take their designs to the beyond just toothpicks and tape after they discuss the goal and make their plan. They can draw it out in front of them in 3D in order to test their designs further!

Additionally, we can use the doodlers to explore 3D shapes in math and the concept of volume in both math and science.
