My students need a Block Play STEM Early Learning Kit, a wooden train set, and a few other exploration toys for my future engineers to get their creative minds working and develop great social skills.
Ready, set, GO! That's how my kinder kiddos enter the room every day. They're 25 energetic kiddos who want to learn, play, and have fun. I wouldn't want it any other way!
"Learning is not a spectator sport so let's play!" Author unknown.
I totally agree with this quote and so do the Kiddos. My center based classroom is filled with fun activities the Kiddos don't even know they are learning. These centers reach out to the diverse group of learners in a suburban Title I District in Massachusetts. We serve free and reduced breakfast and lunch, and have a growing ELL and low income population.
Beyond that, the social emotional needs of our students seem to be increasing tremendously. Families have an increasing amount of stress with their busy lives, and more academic standards are expected of these young kiddos. So let's step back and learn to play a little more!
My Project
My Kinder Kiddos love to learn and what better way than to do it while playing! I am so excited that our district has gone to full day Kindergarten for all children, which means I get to teach science. Yahoo! It also means that many children need to adjust to a full day of school, learn to work with twice as many peers if not more than they had in the past, and learn to possible become future engineers. The children will have time to design a train track or engineer a bridge to get the billy goats safely across the bridge, and even work on those fine motor skills as they learn about magnets and create designs during free play or during center time.
Your generous donation will allow me to enhance my children's learning experience while playing with their friends.
These hands on Stem toys will encourage creative minds, co-operate play, and problem solving skills, all while having fun!
