My Students

Have you ever tried to draw a straight line with a beat up and broken ruler? We do every day!

My students are great kids when you get to know them.

They take pride in their work and try their best. They don't have a lot, so it is up to us to show them what opportunities are available for them. They can take the skills from my class and make something of their future. They deserve a chance. Several live on their own and struggle every day. They are in the 8th and 9th grade and have learned to cope with so much and make due with what they are given. We have a very high poverty level at our school, and I would love to give them the best learning opportunities as I can.

My Project

Currently we are working with two different sets of architect scales, and some require fractions and some don't. It is hard to teach this way. Also, my scales are old and have been dropped and have chunks taken out of them and it is impossible to draw nice neat straight lines. We use these very often and it is hindering out work.

Please help us.

We are not being as productive as we can be due to our abused equipment. I would love to have a nice new class set that I can teach from so that we can spend more time learning and less time figuring out which scales to use, and each student could have their own.
