Engineering Minds Must Explore

My students need two Lego Wedo 2.0 kits to understand the process of engineering skills in order to meet today's academic standards.

My Students

Our school is a rural elementary school.

There is one class per grade from K-6.

We are an upper elementary classroom of 30 students. These students are kindhearted and compassionate to others. This school year, they raised $866.70 for the Children's Craniofacial Association by selling root beer floats at the annual school chili supper. This was a student led project and all supplies were provided by their parents. The idea to help others came after reading the book Wonder by RJ Palacio.

My Project

With today's engineering and coding standards, students must have experiences to totally understand the process.

Lego Education WeDo kits allow students to build a robot and then code the robot.

Sounds may also be added in their coding of the robots. These kits will allow the students to work on these skills often. WeDo kits are just another STEM activity that students love. Students can not get enough of the hands-on activities. Having these kits in my classroom will allow for the creative juices to flow regularly. Imagine what the kids will learn from each other as they build and explore.
