We are a full day kindergarten class at a Title I school. Most of our students qualify for the free breakfast and lunch program. The student population is 33% Caucasian, 26% Hispanic, 12% Asian, 11% African American, 28% other.
My Project
I would love to introduce STEM learning about how the world works. Engineering is a subject many people don't have exposure to. Our future engineers,scientists, and movers and shakers of the world all have had some kind of engineering experience,a mechanic father, a gift of blocks, a trip to Legoland. Many title one students don't have the resources to spark that interest. I would like to be able to purchase different blocks, gears,Legos to give those students an equal interest. They are our future engineers, architects, city planners of tomorrow. I want to create an excitement of learning. The things we learn in kindergarten set us up for a lifetime of learning.
