My Students

My fourth graders are motivated, hard-working, and inquisitive students who really love solving tough problems and exploring new technologies.

They take school very seriously and love to impress adults with how smart and talented they are!

Some of my students do not have regular access to technology at home and absolutely love getting involved in hands-on engineering and design STEM projects at school with their class. They're looking forward to collaborating with their peers to design and construct robotic devices using Nintendo Labo.

My Project

These Nintendo Labo sets include materials, instructions, and tools to design and build hundreds of different robotic devices, such as a fishing rod or a miniature piano. They are used in conjunction with the Nintendo Switch console and its remote controls.

Students will use these kits and the Switch console to explore the science of simple machines like ramps, pulleys, wheels, inclined planes, wedges, and levers.

The class will also be able to apply what they've been learning about programming and augmented reality to design their own video games. The exciting combination of STEM and art will likely inspire my students to continue exploring the field of engineering as they continue their education in high school and beyond!
