I work in an urban, highly diverse school. I teach Physics, Honors Physics, and AP Physics. My students are very driven to explore science, and they often collaborate to complete their work.
My classroom serves students of all levels, from AP students to students, who don't have any interest in science.
Students come from a wide range of socioeconomic levels and ethnic backgrounds. That's the beauty of our neighborhood; you get a little bit of everything.
Our school has the largest student population of all high schools in our district and is located just east of the city center. For over a hundred years, we have provided a space for students to receive a high-quality education and to instill the values we hope to see in all of our graduates. Each of my students is a part of a legacy.
My Project
Next year, I will begin teaching engineering for the first time in several years. In these classes, students are constantly creating designs for projects.
In order to best support their designs, I need a printer that can scan in their 3D models from paper to their electronic devices.
I also need a machine that can print out their computer-generated designs to print into their notebooks.
My classroom, currently, has a very simple, low capacity printer that only works via USB on my computer. Having a printer that can be accessed wirelessly and from a phone allows my students to print their own work.
