My school is located in a rural, farming community. Due to the smaller size of our student population, we receive less funding. We are in need of STEM resources to provide opportunities for our students to engage in engineering skills along with critical thinking and problem solving. As a first grade teacher, I have an amazing opportunity to create intriguing and engaging learning experiences for my students!
Having the opportunity to integrate robotics and lego experiences into our daily learning will support my twenty-first century learners as they are developing into future engineers, scientists, and leaders of tomorrow.
My Project
As we dive into this school year, I am excited to provide numerous opportunities for my first graders to explore in coding, constructing, and designing. With implementing the next generation science standards, students must have the opportunity to integrate science, technology, engineering and math in constructing and designing.
As twenty-first century learners, it is imperative that students have the opportunity to develop skills in engineering, coding, robotics, problem solving, and critical thinking.
