Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We belong to a Title I school in Miami-Dade County, Miami, Florida, where 100% of the students are offered free breakfast and about 85% of the student population receives free lunch. Our school provides limited resources to our students due to budget constraints so I am always looking out for support in the community.
My students design, prototype, and code robots.
We have been working very hard together to implement the Robotics Magnet Program at our school. Ever since the program started, hundreds of students have shown so much interest in this subject.
My Project
My Technology and Robotics students must design their prototypes hand-rendered and using a computer program. We will use the Dell computer that we are requesting in this project for this purpose.
In addition, my students have to document these ideas and designs by creating an "Engineering Notebook." The designs and progress of a project's pictures will be printed in color using the HP Printer that we are also in need of.
That printing will give their designs a better visualization of the details before building the prototypes, details that they really miss when printing in black and white. Their engineering notebooks will look both "Professional & Scientific."
