Our musicians are eager to play music. They come in excited to perform and learn music of today and music from history. Our band and orchestra classroom is often a place where musicians hang out during breaks in the school day. From playing their instruments to talking and chatting with fellow musician friends.
Our band and orchestra classes bring together musicians from all backgrounds, all neighborhoods, and different school groups.
We come together to perform as one even though we may all be learning at a different pace, on a different level, or working through personal challenges.
We perform 3-4 concerts a year and several community events. Performing and learning new concepts in music with updated instruments and the accessories needed for the instruments, is important to our development.
My Project
These materials will upgrade many items that we use daily. The Music Stand Long Clip will hold the music to the music stand when we perform or rehearse outdoors. Many times, these get used multiple times in a day. The clips are clear plastic on one side so the music can be seen when clipped.
The string method books will be used to enhance the daily skills practice of our string orchestra.
The method book presents the material in a different way which will allow us to experience a variety of teaching and learning modalities.
The timpani heads will replace the heads of our kettle drums. The heads are 12 years old which are about 7 years overdue.
