Help me give my students more opportunities to build and code with the LEGO Boost Coding Kits and Makeblock Robotic Kits. Students not only build the robot in each kit, they code it.
My students are in 5th and 6th grades. Each and every student uses the engineering design process in my STEM lab to explore and create two projects of their choice. Projects choices include things like building and designing, circuits, coding, creative arts, robotics and digital communication.
These projects further develop their critical thinking, problem solving and creative skills.
They experience hands on, minds on learning. Students connect their project to STEM careers and reflect on the process of designing and creating.
My Project
Students will use the engineering design process to build and code their robot. These kits will further develop their critical thinking and problem solving skills and will provide a unique and creative way to incorporate coding into their STEM project.
The LEGO Boost kits include pieces for 5 different models that students can build, code and play.
The Makeblock kits are easy to build and can be modified to make it their own personal design. These kits will provide more choices for students to apply their robotic and coding skills. Once their build is complete, students will code their own robot design.
