Help me give my students math activities that are hands-on. An important part of kindergarten is learning to work in groups. These games and activities allow students to build math skills while learning to work cooperatively.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are very curious and are full of questions. We strive every day to learn something new. We have worked with Green Our Planet and installed our first set of garden beds. We want these beds to be a learning classroom for students, whether we are inside or outside out our learning never stops.
My kindergarten students are very curious about the world around them and we want to give them those hands on chances to learn as much as possible.
My students live in sunny Las Vegas, NV. As teachers at a low income/low SES Title 1 elementary school, I try to give my students as many hands-on learning activities as possible. My students don't get the opportunity to explore much of the world around them. All of our students school-wide receive free breakfast and lunch and 30% of our students are homeless. My school's goal is to provide students with the best learning education while teaching them how to be the best person they can be. One small act at a time, we can change our world.
My Project
It is important for kindergarten students to learn to work cooperatively. Kinder students spend about half of their day working in small groups with other students, independent of the teacher.
These math activities will allow students to build skills of working together while learning their number and critical thinking skills.
It is important for students to learn their numbers quickly so that they are prepared to start adding and subtracting. The math activities will help students build deeper than surface level thinking skills that do not come naturally to most young children.
Many of the activities that were picked will begin to help students understand numerical concepts that will eventually lead to a better understanding of addition and subtraction. Students need to be able to identify, build and write numbers. They also need to know and understand all the different combinations that make up numbers.
