Engaging the Children With Personal Printed Materials!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are remarkable! They range from Kindergarten to 8th grade. Majority of them are from very low socioeconomic families and some of them even live in homeless shelters. When they come into my room, they still have positive attitudes; when they're having a bad day, I do my best to give them support and something to enjoy. I encourage an open, safe, and fun environment for my students to give them the maximal possibility for success. They look forward to the activities planned for the sessions; as I walk through the hallways my students stop me and ask if they can come to my classroom to learn. Seeing them laugh and get excited about learning is so rewarding.
These students have been dealt a tough hand in this world but they keep pushing forward.
I have students who lost parents to murder, gun violence or cancer at a very young age. Many of them are hard on themselves. They need a lot of visuals, rewards and reminders of the goals they have but they continue with so much strength!
My Project
My school does not have printers for teachers to print materials and activities for our students. The children get excited when they are able to take home the work they do in class. It gives them a sense of pride that they completed something and can show it to their teachers and/or guardians. It is also important for them to monitor their own progress by having personalized printed materials that they can use for each session!
The Brother laser color printer, toners and paper would benefit the students in multiple ways including sense of ownership and monitoring academic improvement using their own materials.
I have so many exciting, engaging, and educational materials that can be personalized for each student on my computer but no where to print them! Please help me to educate these students with effective, personalized materials.
