I have a very talented group of 2nd grade students. With a set of iPads and OSMOs they will be able to connect with the world in new ways and build language arts, math, and technological skills.
These children are funny, dedicated, brilliant, kind, inquiring minds who rise to any academic challenge presented to them.
Our school is a family of administrators, teachers, support staff, and parents that truly care about one another and work together to deliver the best for each and every one of our students.
My Project
For my project, I am looking to gain more technology for my classroom. Currently, we do not have 1-to-1 technology, but rather a mix of items that are shared among the grade level. Having worked previously in 1-to-1 technology classrooms, I see the benefit of each child having their own device. This project will help launch us toward the eventual goal of allowing each child their own in-class device to learn and work with.
By having iPads and the Osmo manipulatives, students are able to learn about coding, a vitally important 21st-century skill, math, and reading/ELA.
Our world is moving by leaps and bounds to be more technologically advanced, and the sooner we can teach students about ways to use technology to learn and grow, the more opportunities they'll have for success in the future!
