My students need iPads with cases, a charging station, a camera lens, a microphone, adjustable iPad stands, and extra charging cables to create videos to further engage them in the process of learning!
My students range from Pre-K through Fourth Grade. Each student who comes to my room has a disability of some sort and struggles to learn in the general education classroom. Many of my students come from low income households and have limited resources and experiences. It is especially imperative to get my students excited about learning.
This year my students are an amazing bunch of hard-working kiddos, who continue to inspire me, despite their disabilities they come each day eager to learn.
They enjoy using technology and learning by using their hands. We live in a very rural area. Most of the students have never traveled outside of the area. Many do not have technology in their homes.
My Project
I plan to help my students record videos of themselves demonstrating skills and concepts they have learned in my classroom. We will use the iPads with cases, the flexible stands, microphone, and camera lens to create the videos. We will use the charging station and cables to make sure they stay safe and charged when we aren't using them.
Whether it is a new math strategy they have mastered or a good book they have just finished reading, my students will be excited to share what they are learning by recording videos.
Not only will we share these videos in our class to their peers, but we will share them with two of my colleagues' classrooms to show them what we are learning. This project will help put my students in charge of their learning and really challenge their meta-cognitive skills.
