My students need subscriptions to Scholastic StoryWorks for engaging articles to improve important reading skills such as inferencing, text connections, patterns, and much more.

My Students

I have many different learning levels and styles that enter my classroom everyday. It is my belief that every student can be successful, and it is my job to show them that they can do anything. I do this by finding activities that are engaging and relevant.

I teach 6th grade ELA (English Language Arts), and my students range from special education students to on level students to advanced students.

I teach these wonderful students in an Intermediate school that is multicultural and focused on teaching important character skills.

My Project

These Scholastic magazines will be used to teach students important reading skills such as inferencing, summarizing, text connections, and much more. These magazines contain current articles, from multiple genres, that are relevant and engaging for today's 6th graders. My students love this magazine! Even my lowest readers can read and analyze these articles. The subscription comes with access to online tools that provide audios and activities for each story.

One of my biggest struggles is to get students, who struggle to have reading success, excited about reading.

These magazines do just that. When these students read an entire article and analyze it themselves they are successful, and success is addictive.
