This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students I serve are in a low-income/high poverty school district. Our students are faced with many challenges both in and out of school. Being a School Social Worker I work very hard to help minimize these challenges so that each student can come to school prepared and receive the education they deserve. These challenges can include physical, emotional, or economic problems. It is my job to help them succeed at school.
Breathe, think, then react!
Children face a lot of challenges, trauma, tough backgrounds, etc. I believe we should teach them mindfulness, social skills, anger and anxiety coping skills in school. Skills they need to succeed.
My Project
Social emotional learning skills should be taught at school. These games and resources can help me teach our students these important skills. I spend time in classrooms with small groups as well as lead whole group lessons. These materials can really help promote SEL!
I am looking for games/resources to be donated so that I can increase participation during groups and better serve our students!
