This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have the privilege of teaching a truly gifted group of 3rd through 6th graders. They have already established a love for learning with technology and hands-on activities. My mission is to challenge their thinking and create a collaborative group of scholars who can solve tomorrow's issues.
My students are extremely motivated and creative, but sometimes lack hands-on materials to enrich their learning.
We are a Title I school in the inner city of Miami. We have a very diverse population and students come to school with many challenges. I want them to feel pride in themselves and their classroom. Please help me give my students the tools needed to excel.
My Project
Help us go beyond STEM with STEAM by incorporating art and design into technology. This approach brings engagement and fun to the classroom and allows littleBits to be used cross-curricularly.
Hands-on STEAM activities extend past the lesson by helping students understand the world around them.
By recreating or reinventing technologies that they find interesting, students build independent thinking and creative problem-solving skills for challenges in front of them.
Thinking outside the box and using real life problem solving skills keeps students engaged and promotes team work. Cultivating innovation from a young age is essential for success in tomorrow’s job market.
