Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students love exploring and hands on activities. They enjoy being challenged and discovering things for themselves.
My students are a wonderful group of kids.
They are hard working and interested in learning. The majority are English language learners. They live in an economically disadvantaged community with limited resources. Having resources for science exploration projects and room dividers will allow them to challenge themselves individually and in groups.
My Project
When my students work one on one, we will use the dividers as barriers to block out unwanted distractions. The room dividers will create a neutral space where students are free to explore. They will be better able to focus on the task at hand. I am also requesting an Electricity Lab set where students will be able to experiment with how to make electricity. Students will be able to be hands on with testing for conductors to create a simple switched circuit. Students will be able to investigate individually and in groups. They will discuss what they know about electricity, how it flows, and how things are wired.
The better engaged my students are-the better chance they have of learning.
I think having these learning materials will excite and help my students stay focused. Thank you for the chance you are giving my students to be successful.
