This class of learners is full of some of the most unique individuals I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. They all bring something different to our classroom and I am so thankful for each and every one of them.
Each and every one of these students has GRIT.
It is a topic we have discussed at length this year. Many of these kiddos are on free or reduced lunch and have experienced many hardships at home. I admire their perseverance and determination to not let anything stand in their way.
My Project
The resources I am working on getting for my students are social studies and science curriculum. This will allow me to have more hands-on learning for my students rather than them having to read from a textbook. These graphic organizers will make learning history and science engaging and fun!
Active learning is a huge part of our classroom environment, and these resources will allow us to do that.
Students love history and these interactive notebooks make learning all the better. The STEM challenges for science are a great community building activity while learning critical science skills. These also come with assessments, flashcards, and other resources that supplement the districts lack of social studies and science curriculum. It also aligns well with our reading curriculum, allowing me to teach cross-curricular.
