My Students

I work in a wonderful school district with fifth graders who enjoy school, have a love of learning, and are super inquisitive! Our students absolutely love hands-on, active, and engaging projects! Our class sizes are generally around 20 students in our school district (but sometimes more) and vary from two to three classrooms at each grade level. In our classes the children love learning and we as teachers have to be mindful of how our students learn best! We strive to use a variety of learning strategies including: group work, alternative seating, differentiation, technology...etc. to ensure that each student's needs are met!

My Project

The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "purpose." In other words, I know exactly what I will do with them. The activity tubs will be used for students to get hands on experiences. Classroom books and models will help students see and understand the science they are learning about.

Science can be difficult for students to understand but with these materials I can create more engaging lessons, give students hands on practice, and create a fun learning environment.

Students who normally struggle with lecture style classes will have an opportunity to get hands on and be more engaged in lessons.
