Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The 5th graders at KES are forever learners. When it comes to science, I have always wanted to create a spark in a child's mind that will ignite their imagination. This year, I hope to make a more interactive science classroom; one that will not only engage the students but make their learning more hands-on. With adequate school supplies, a science-themed classroom, and items available for our experiments, I hope to give my students the joy of the classroom, and the excitement of discovery. I will be able to offer prizes for science project winners, as well as make learning fun by making slime when learning our properties of matter!
By making science engaging through virtual reality and interactive experiments, students can experience the next closest thing to actually being on the moon or exploring an animal's ecosystem.
Rather than simply discussing circuits, we can build them together in class. Students can have take-home projects and be proud of their science work at the end of their school day.
All students are natural-born scientists. They ask the questions that help them discover and explore their world. But making science interesting, that's how we can ignite their imagination and make them scientifically literate for life.
