Engaging Resources for Our Little Virtual Learners
Help me give my students what they need in order to make virtual learning more engaging. I want to supply headphones, whiteboards, and dry erase pocket sleeves to each student during these very uncertain times.

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
¡Hola a todos! Hello everyone! I have 25 students in our Kindergarten Dual Language program this year. While all of my students come from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds, they each come ready to learn and engage in social interaction with other Goethe Bucket Fillers, all while having fun. Each of their backgrounds reflect our diverse community and our school.
My Project
The whiteboards will be used during both whole group and small group instruction for all subjects. They will allow for students to practice their writing and reading foundational skills and to show their thinking during math instruction. The headphones will help tune out background noises that can be distracting and provide students with an easier way to listen to one another during our lessons. During our distance learning in the Spring, students used ziplock baggies as pocket sleeves. This school year I want to make sure that each student has one. They will be used primarily during math to play different hands-on games using ten frame sheets and counters. It will make it easier for students to wipe off the information without losing the ten-frame and having to redo it all over again.
I want to continue motivating my students in their acquisition of the Spanish language with the goal of becoming biliterate.
The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will assist in purchasing engaging digital resources that are beneficial to my students' learning and that are fun to take part in. Unfortunately, there are less than a handful of updated websites and platforms that allow kids to learn foundational skills in a fun kid-friendly way in Spanish (Not just a translation!). Providing digital resources where students can hear the language is imperative, especially when they don’t have anyone at home that can model the second language. Having thematic resources that students can use to build their vocabulary, practice their oracy, and give them the confidence they need to continue pursuing their education is not only what my students need, but what they deserve. The resources that they use to build their education should be just as engaging and motivating as the resources that are available in the monolingual classrooms.
